Summer
may be winding down, but here at Barking Horse Studio, shows
are heating up! I am delighted to have four opportunities to
show in Chicago:
Port Clinton in Highland Park August 23
& 24
Lakeview Festival of the Arts September 13
& 14
Naperville Riverwalk
September 20 & 21
One of a Kind
Show at the Chicago Merchandise Mart December 4-7.
In addition to the above shows, I will also be at
the Kentuck Folk Art Festival
in Northport, Alabama the weekend of October 18 & 19, and
at the Great Gulf Coast Art Fair in
Pensacola, Florida the weekend of November 7, 8, &9.
Please come see my new Flower Pot
paintings (see below).
If you can't make it to the shows, I am
always happy to email you pictures of what I have, and you can
make your selection that way.

But Besides That!
Wonder what I do between
shows? Besides painting for upcoming shows and keeping up
with my columnist duties for the
Chattanooga Times Free Press, I also take on
a number of commissions. I recently
completed three, 3'x3' cat paintings for the all new
Chattanooga Cat Clinic, and was featured in the paper as one of five local pet
portrait painters here in Chattanooga. In other news, my
husband, photographer Daryl Thetford and
I were interviewed by the local NPR station about our recent
grant awards. (Watch for an upcoming link to that
podcast.)
And finally,I'll be taking a
short break from painting at the end of October to attend the
South Carolina Writers Workshop, courtesy of that grant!
Flower Pot (L) & Scooter and Di (R)
Don't forget that pet potraits make a
unique and personal holiday gift. To talk about
ordering one, just call or email me now through early
December (the sooner the better as things get busy!). Also,
you can check the commissions page on my website for more
information.
